In an effort to provide clean and safe streets during the winter months, the City of West Point kindly requests residents adhere to the following guidelines:
Upon receiving a measurable snowfall, no vehicles may be parked on the streets around the City Square Park between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. in order to allow for orderly snow removal.
Vehicles parked in any business or residential areas interfering with snow removal must be moved within 10 hours to a location where the snow has been removed the full width of the street.
The City of West Point reserves the right to direct the police department to arrange for towing of any vehicle interfering with snow removal at the owner’s expense. The towing firm may retain possession of the vehicle until all towing charges are paid in full.
Please do not push or place any ice or snow from private property, sidewalks, or driveways onto the streets or alleys which could create a hazardous condition, obstruct gutters, or impede the passage of vehicles.
It is the responsibility of residents to remove snow, ice and accumulations promptly from sidewalks. Additionally, to ensure proper delivery of mail, all approaches to mailboxes should to be kept clear of snow, debris, and not be blocked by any vehicles.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Paul Walker, Mayor
City of West Point
