City Hall Open by Appointment Only

8/26/2020

To All Concerned,

With the dramatic increases in COVID-19 cases arising in Southeast Iowa, the lack of due care and attention to public safety by individuals attending highly attended local events; I am compelled to once again lock the doors to City Hall. The City Hall will be open by appointment only and those wishing to enter City Hall shall be met with the requirements to wear a facial covering that meets CDC requirements.

Staff will also be required to wear facial coverings when a 6 foot distance cannot be met.

I estimate 90% to 95 % of the City business can be handled over the telephone or by other means of communication. Utility payments can be dropped in the drop box or mailed thus there is no need to endanger the public with this highly transmitted virus.

Staff will review this requirment weekly with Mayor and City Hall will re-open when infection numbers fall to a reasonable, sustainable number of active cases.

City Hall wishes to be proactive in reducing our participation in this pandemic event.

Our thanks go out to all those who actively participate in prevention of further transmission of this decimating virus.
